Strategic market connections

Bear River Midstream’s storage assets provide direct, highly advantageous access to key interstate pipelines across the Western and Mid-Continent regions and even to the East and Gulf Coast. This interconnected footprint gives customers ultimate flexibility to seamlessly move, store and manage natural gas to meet changing market demands.
Wyoming

Stallion Gas Storage

Stallion Gas Storage in Wyoming is a critical component of energy infrastructure in the Western U.S. The facility connects with five major interstate natural gas pipelines:
  • Kern River Gas Transmission
  • Ruby Pipeline
  • MountainWest Pipeline
  • MountainWest Overthrust Pipeline
  • Northwest Pipeline
It is also located near the Opal Hub, a key trading point for natural gas in the Western U.S. With these interconnections, customers can also access the Rockies Express (REX) Pipeline for Mid-Continent markets and other markets east.
  • Consists of two underground natural gas storage fields adjacent to and connected with each other: the Clear Creek Field and the Belle Butte Field in Uinta County, near Evanston, Wyoming. These fields operate in an integrated manner under one FERC Gas Tariff to provide firm storage, interruptible storage and hub services at market-based rates.
  • Expansion facilities were placed in service at Clear Creek Field in 2025, transforming its underground storage capabilities to meet growing demand. The Clear Creek project was one of the first FERC-approved storage expansions in more than a decade.
